Pipe lights
This is a series I did after the Los Angeles earthquake. Overnight, life had changed forever. I saw scenes I'd never imagined before. Dangling electrical lines were lighting up the night with their sparks. A broken pipe could be harmless or could mean a neighborhood in flames. One begins to feel uneasy in life, and approaches anything new and unusual with caution. This is the concept I've tried to express with these lights.
Fortunately all of these have gone to good, solid homes. Move your mouse over the small pictures and click to see a larger version. All sculptures and images are © Erwin Timmers.
Still fascinated by this concept, I recently finished the series below(Dec. '99).
Hopefully, they will find good homes too. Some were featured at the Warehouse Theatre/Studio party on Dec. 18th, 1999, in Washington D.C.
