Perspections
This piece started as a lighted sign to be mounted outside the class room at Meltdown, to show whether we were in class or not. But it soon turned into a narrative piece about love-hate relationships. In this photo the cast glass plates show the symbol for Meltdown, but since then I've cast glass plates with various symbols.
The piece comes to life as you approach it, triggered by a motion detector, and starts flashing green and red alternately. For the photo we turned both neon items on, but this is not how it is normally seen. It was a great attention getter for the Post This! show at the Studio Gallery.
The assembly is 55" high, 25" wide, and 30" deep.
