Tread Lightly
I found this huge valve on a scrap yard, and it mates perfectly with the cast glass on top, showing the movement out of the pipe. I chose the colors in the glass to complement the natural patina of the pipe. I even got the valve to operate as a dimmer for the light inside. Turning the valve handle is an experience in itself, and then you see the light get dimmer, or brighter...

The assembly is 32" high, with a 12" diameter base.
