ARTBASEMENT

. . . and there's a lot of it to be found in our daily lives, we just have to look a little. At ArtBasement, I try to bring out the hidden beauty in otherwise ordinary items.

The more we see something, the less we notice it. We certainly don't pay much attention to things we encounter on a daily basis. And I don't mean just flowers and trees, but take a look at the man-made objects around us. When was the last time you stopped and reflected on the esthetics of plumbing, the tactile qualities of your fence, or the internal structure of a muffler...? These are just some examples of everyday items I have recycled and incorporated in sculptures. Shown in a new light and with an interesting twist, these pieces will demonstrate that there can be beauty, where you never expected it.

The past few years I've added fused and cast glass to my repertoire. Glass compliments steel so naturally, and is the perfect medium for lighted sculpture. I love the inherent beauty of the material, and there are many opportunities to recycle. Choose a category from the right to continue . . .
